BUILDING ACT, REGULATIONS AND SUPPORT DOCUMENTS

The Building Regulations ~ this is a Statutory Instrument which sets out the minimum performance standards for the design and construction of buildings and where applicable to the extension o buildings. The regulations are supported by other documents which generally give guidance on how to achieve the required performance standards. The relationship of these and othe documents is set out below:-ts

NB. The Building Regulations apply to England and Wales but not to Scotland and Northern Ireland which have separate systems of control.
